My mother has been in the hospital for three
weeks, and only came home yesterday.

I am so very grateful for your Clarion scholarship.
Your generous gift is going to make it possible
for me to attend.  My mom's illness means I was
unable to work for several weeks, and I had been
planning to tell the good folk of Clarion West
that I would be unable to attend - so you can
imagine my relief, my happiness and my gratitude
when I heard of your gift.
