Dear Rick:

We have selected Nick Salestrom of Lincoln, Nebraska, and E. Lily Yu of West
Windsor, New Jersey, to be this year's recipients of the Gordon R. Dickson
Scholarships for Clarion West. Our readers rated them as two of our top
applicants for this year.

Nick is currently completing an MFA in Kansas City, MO, and has a couple of
publications out and forthcoming under his pseudonym, Nicholas G.
Lancaster. Lily is just out of college herself and will be starting a PhD
program in the fall. She has had several publications in the last few years,
and was nominated for both the Hugo and Nubula last year for one of
them and she received the 2012 John W. Campbell Award for new
writers.

We are so pleased that you are offering scholarship money for students
attending the Clarion West workshop. It was a delightful surprise to be able to
offer two awards this year. Thank you once again for your support of our
program and our students.
